Carlito returned to WWE on a full-time basis in 2023, 13 years after his first run with the company ended.
Carlito spent two years in the promotion during his second run with his time coming to an end in June when his contract wasn't renewed.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Carlito was asked about the difference between his first run from 2003 to 2010 and his second run.
"It was weird showing up to work happy. [Before], I was miserable showing up to work. All the tension and old school bullshit. I don't mean to knock on Vince [McMahon], but he seemed to have his certain things you have to do this way and the next day it would change. Certain rules. They like people walking on eggshells because it was the only game in town and they like the boys knowing that. With AEW being around, too, they know they can't bully because there are other places for people to go. Hunter [Triple H] has done a good job too of cleaning all that crap out. It's also a new generation where you can't get away with certain things you could before. A bunch of that BS is gone now. People go there, show up, and do their work," he said.
Carlito was part of Judgment Day before his WWE departure.
