Carmella: Everyone Wants To Jump On The Carmella Bandwagon Now That I've Become Popular On SmackDown

Carmella has become beloved by the fans.

For the greater portion of Carmella's career on the main roster, she has been a heel and throughout 2018 fans would get eager when they felt Carmella's reign as SmackDown Women's Champion was coming to an end. Carmella captured the SmackDown Women's Championship when she cashed in the Money In The Bank contract on the Tuesday after WrestleMania 34. She reigned until the 2018 SummerSlam pay-per-view where she lost the title to Charlotte Flair in a Triple-Threat match that also involved the current SmackDown Live Women's Champion Becky Lynch.

Coming out of her title reign, Carmella aligned herself with R-Truth and the two have picked up quite the fan-base. Carmella is aware that she has gained a few new fans and she commented on that while being interviewed by Mirror Sport.

"It’s always fun to play the bad guy, that’s for sure. But everyone wants to jump on the Carmella bandwagon now that she’s become a popular act on SmackDown. I’ll take it because whether they’re talking about me because they love me or they hate me, they’re talking about me, so I’ll take it." She expressed.

Carmella and R-Truth work together on SmackDown Live and on Mixed Match Challenge. "The Princess Of Staten Island" shared that she is having a blast doing the M.M.C. tournament and working with the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion R-Truth.

"Honestly, my favorite part is the Mixed Match Challenge." She shared. "It’s so much fun; I get to work with R-Truth who is the man. It just brings a different element to the table when you’re wrestling with a guy as a partner because you don’t know what’s going to happen. When you have just a regular women’s match or regular men’s match you know they’re going to fight. When there’s a little bit of a mixture, you never know what’s going to happen and I think it’s a lot of fun."
