Carmella Reflects On What It Was Like For Her To Be A Part Of WWE 'Evolution'

Carmella reflects on the first-ever all-women's pay-per-view.

"The Princess Of Staten Island" Carmella has had an eventful 2018. She started it off by carrying her Money In The Bank contract through the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match to competing at WrestleMania to eventually winning the SmackDown Women's Title via cash-in. Mella reigned as the head honcho of the SmackDown women's division for five months and just last month she wrestled on WWE's first-ever all-women's pay-per-view 'Evolution'. Now she is looking to play her role in guiding Team SmackDown to victory at Survivor Series but along the way the company did a tour of Europe and while overseas Carmella chatted with 'Express Sport' and during their conversation she took a mental trip back to two weeks ago and reflected on the monumental night that was 'Evolution'.

WWE SmackDown Preview, Start Time, How To Watch (4/19): Bayley vs. Naomi, AJ Styles vs. LA Knight

“It was such an incredible day, just being backstage [with] all the women [at Evolution]. Everyone was just brought together for this historic event which I was so honored to be a part of. I don’t want to say we’re in the middle of this Women’s Evolution anymore because I don’t even know if there’s a cap on this evolution that the women are part of right now." She said. "I just feel so lucky and fortunate to be a part of all these ‘first evers’, and now it’s getting to a point where we don’t even have to say the ‘first ever’ or anything like that because it’s just become the norm. Before it was, ‘Oh my gosh, the women are the main event of SmackDown tonight’, and now it’s, ‘The women are the main event’. So I just feel very fortunate to be in the midst of all of it.”

As mentioned, Carmella will be representing the blue-brand in the five-on-five Women's Survivor Series match. The RAW team has yet to be announced so keep an eye on Fightful's Survivor Series "events" page to stay up to date on who is representing the red-brand come November 18th.
