Carmella Wins Fatal 4-Way Match, Will Meet Bayley For SmackDown Women's Championship

Carmella has won the opportunity to face Bayley for the SmackDown Women's Championship.

On the February 7 episode of SmackDown, Carmella defeated Alexa Bliss, Naomi, and Dana Brooke in a Fatal 4-Way match to earn the opportunity to face Bayley at a date still to be announced. Bayley and Carmella were once very close friends prior to the SmackDown Women's Champion turning heel in the fall of 2019.

Spoiler: First-Ever WWE Speed Champion Crowned

Even though Carmella is the one that ended up earning the right to call herself number one contender, throughout the Fatal 4-Way Match, Bayley seemed more directly concerned with Naomi. Naomi had made her return to WWE television on the January 31 episode of SmackDown and left the champion laying, which in turn led to Bayley physically attacking Naomi at points during the number one contender’s bout.

In the end, Carmella would get the victory with a pair of her signature Superkicks and as soon as she would claim victory, the champion was there to attack her.

Stay tuned to Fightful for any updates regarding a potential date for this match. The WWE email alert suggested this bout would take place at the WWE Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia, but there was no mention of that on the February 7 SmackDown broadcast.
