Carmelo Hayes says it's all love with Booker T.
Booker T not only serves as the color commentator for NXT, but he is a mentor to many in NXT given his history in the business and his success in running Reality of Wrestling.
Carmelo Hayes touts himself as HIM and is seen by many to be a future star on the main roster, and he has the support of Booker T and his fellow Black wrestlers.
“I feel like every Black wrestler that I’ve met has just shown so much love. Like Booker T, even Big E, just from top to bottom. It’s just like an unspoken camaraderie in a lot of ways. Booker for example, he wants the best for all talent, but Black talent as well. Booker T’s has been a huge advocate for helping with my progress," Carmelo told Armon Sadler of VIBE in an interview that was done in September.
Hayes has already enjoyed a couple of bouts on the main roster, most recently taking on Kevin Owens in the WWE United States Number One Contender Tournament.
In NXT, Hayes is aligned with Trick Williams, though the two are working out their potential issues ahead of Trick's NXT Title bout against Ilja Dragnunov at NXT New Year's Year.
