Carmelo Hayes Reacts To Support From Trick Williams Following WWE United States Title Loss

Williams publicly showed support for Hayes.

Trick Williams got involved in Carmelo Hayes and Sami Zayn’s WWE United States Championship match on the 3/27 Friday Night SmackDown. Williams took a swing at Zayn and accidentally connected with Hayes. That led to Zayn defeating Hayes to win the belt.

Williams is now set to challenge Zayn for the U.S. Title at WrestleMania 42. He made an appearance on HOT 97’s Mornings with Mero and spoke highly of Hayes’ U.S. Title reign and expressed that he would like to see Hayes have his WrestleMania moment.

While Hayes was on the Battleground Podcast, he reacted to Williams’ support.

“I mean, he’s not wrong,” Hayes laughed. “I don’t know. He’s not wrong… Doesn’t do anything for me. I think we’ll see what happens.”

Hayes stated that in the same media appearance that the 4/3 SmackDown is the platform for him to address his title loss, but he is heartbroken about it.
