Cedric Alexander Says "Good Things Come To Those Who Wait" While Speaking On His WWE Cruiserweight Title Match At WrestleMania

Cedric Alexander is ready to realize his dream on "The Grandest Stage Of Them All".

205 Live stars Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali are the two remaining competitors in the WWE Cruiserweight Championship tournament and the two stars will do battle on Sunday at WrestleMania 34 to crown a new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. The Charlotte, NC native Cedric Alexander spoke with his hometown news publication the Charlotte Observer and shared how he thought being a pro wrestler would as simple as he saw it on WWE programming as a young fan.

“I was thinking it was essentially the WWE,” he recalls. “Imagine my surprise when I get there on the first day and there’s no ring, no entrance ramp. At that moment, I almost said, ‘This isn’t for me,’ but my coach Frank Smithwick convinced me to give it a go. After that first week of practice, it’s been my second love.”

Alexander was supposed to have his WWE Cruiserweight Title match back in January, but due to the firing of then champion Enzo Amore, Cedric would have to wait and fight once again for his shot at the gold. His moment is near as in two short days he has one last hurdle to climb over in order to fulfill his dream.

“I don’t think anything can prepare you for WrestleMania.' It’s the biggest crowd I’ve ever performed for. On top of that, I’m wrestling a guy who knows everything I do inside and out,” he says. “I’ll have to figure it out on the spot just like every other time I wrestle on television. Once I walk out and see 70,000 people, I’m going to have a moment. After that, I have to snap out of it.”

WWE.com recently did pieces on both Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali prior to their match at WrestleMania, where both men provided some backstory on how they got to this point.
