Cesaro: "I Felt Really Lost After The Bar Broke Up"

After Cesaro and Sheamus' time as The Bar was over, it was a difficult time for Cesaro.

The Bar's success as a tag team has been decorated with various tag team title reigns and multiple matches at WrestleMania, but their partnership ended after Sheamus suffered a concussion in 2019 which would put him on the shelf for months and then Cesaro was drafted to Raw.

In an interview with Comic Book, Cesaro admitted that he felt lost after The Bar broke up, even saying that he tried different things just to see where he fit in with.

"I think it was just a natural evolution," Cesaro said. "I felt really lost after The Bar broke up and I tried some different things, tried some new gear, some new outfits, and it kind of came to a realization that sometimes you need to try something different to find out who you are. I was just kind of looking more inside at who I am, what I stand for, and I'm like, I stand for wrestling. That's the pure form, that's what I love, that's what I grew up on."

Eventually, Cesaro linked up with both Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura and helped Zayn capture the Intercontinental Championship earlier this year. Now, Cesaro and Nakamura will look to capture the SmackDown Tag Team Championship when they face The New Day on the July 10 episode of SmackDown. Fightful will have live coverage of SmackDown.
