Unless you’re at the beach, don’t bring your beach balls around Cesaro. And even if you’re at the beach, they’re still not safe in the clutches of the “Swiss Cyborg.”
At Thursday’s WWE x IGN Marvel vs. Capcom eSports Showdown, Cesaro once again made short work of an old rival.
This was a callback to August’s WWE SummerSlam event, when Cesaro ran into the crowd during the middle of his tag team match with Sheamus against Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, and deflated a crowd distracting beach ball.
That set off BeachBallMania the next night on RAW and led to the inanimate objects being banned the following night at SmackDown.
Sadly for Cesaro, he didn’t fare much better than the beach ball in his first round match-up against Xavier Woods. Cesaro lost three games to one. In true heel fashion, Cesaro won his one game after he threw his jacket at Woods to distract him.
While Woods was no doubt happy with his victory, Cesaro got the last laugh.
Following his loss, Cesaro not only pulled back his handshake, he gave Woods a crotch chop to go along with it. He may not have won when it mattered, but he certainly won the extracurriculars on the night.
Woods may have won this round, but Cesaro still holds the advantage in the feud. A victory in the Marvel vs. Capcom eSports Showdown is nice, but The Bar did end New Day’s record 483-day reign as tag team champions. I’d say that counts for a little more.
