Cesaro Talks Being In The Ring With Up-And-Coming Names Like Ilja Dragunov & Mansoor

When Superstars become as critically acclaimed in the ring as Cesaro, oftentimes they become utilized in the growth of another Superstar due to their ability to pull out a good match with almost anybody they step inside the squared circle with. This is a role that Cesaro takes on with pride.

When speaking to talkSPORT, “The Swiss Cyborg”  reflected upon times in 2019 that he was put in a position to help elevate a fresh Superstar.  Namely, Monsour at WWE Crown Jewel in October and Ilja Dragunov at NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff.

“That’s always very important that you have a story and you have something that you can be creative with,” Cesaro began. “To me, I love those challenges. With Ilja, I know how good he is – I try to stay current with everything which is very hard these days, but I try – and I’ve watched a lot of him before and even with Mansoor, I just knew people really knew nothing about him and I knew that actually, he’s really good. And he is. So that’s cool to showcase that. I hope that happens one day [for me].”

Currently, Cesaro is paired with Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura on the SmackDown brand. You can read more of the full interview with both Cesaro and Nakamura at this link
