CFO$ Discuss Their Process In Creating Music For WWE

Since 2012, CFO$ has been creating music for WWE. When you hear a superstar theme or the score for a WWE show on the WWE Network, you're most likely hearing the work of John Paul Alicastro and Michael Conrad Lauri.

In an interview with Toontrack, CFO$ discussed their process in creating the sound that keeps WWE beating.

"It was very challenging at first to sometimes be put on the spot and go, 'Hey, you have to create something in four hours.' It was an interesting experience for us," said John.

Mike added, "We're always changing things, up until the last minute right before show time. It's important for us to have flexibility."

A big part of the themes you hear in WWE is the drum. CFO$ explained that they like to lead with a drum effect as it leaves the biggest impression.

Mike noted, "Drums having a character in the song is important to us and what we do. We have to have every song feel unique and really define the superstar walking out in a way that can't be mistaken for somebody else."

John said, "It's a larger than life explosive theme that has to grab everyone's attention out of the gate. That's why drums are the most important thing within a song."

If you don't already notice the drum in every WWE theme, chances are you will now.
