Chad Gable Details Shoulder Injuries That Sidelined Him In 2025

In June 2025, Chad Gable suffered a legitimate shoulder injury that would sideline him for the rest of the year.

Gable was not only wrestling as himself in AAA and WWE, he was also competing as El Grande Americano.

In part one of his documentary, Gable detailed the injuries that he suffered.

“This stems back a while, but in October (2024), I was wrestling Gunther on a live event in the UK. Something happened to my bicep tendon on [the right] side, which had never happened before. I don’t even know specifically what happened; it was nobody’s fault, it was just a freak thing. I was walking to the back after the match, my bicep was feeling very funky and it looked funky. It turned out that I had a slight tear in my right bicep tendon, the one that attaches to the shoulder. Nothing serious enough to require surgery. I kept wrestling, finished the tour, and carried on as normal.

“Progressively, the right side was giving me more trouble. Sometimes, I couldn’t extend my elbow all the way or it hurt to or I’d have pain in the lower part of the bicep. eventually, I decided to get it checked out for my sanity. I got MRIs on my shoulder, tricep, and bicep tendons. The doctor explained to me that they found different issues.”

Gable revealed that the doctor told him he had tendinitis in the right elbow,a tear of the bicep, and partial rotator cuff tear. He said he also got an MRI of the left shoulder, which had a tear of the rotator cuff that needed to be repaired.

Gable said that he was so worried about the right shoulder, but it was the left shoulder with the biggest issue.

After missing the rest of 2025, he would make his return in the men’s Royal Rumble at the end of January, reprising his role as the original Americano.

Gable was unmasked at AAA Noche de Los Grandes, losing to Americano II in a mask vs. mask match.
