American Alpha is one of the fastest rising tag teams in the WWE thanks to the raw talent of, and chemistry between, partners Jason Jordan and Chad Gable.
With a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Championship in their sights, the pairing is becoming one of the premiere teams of the blue brand. Though Gable is only a couple of years into his WWE tenure, the former Olympian has been a fan of the business for quite a while. During an interview promoting a WWE Live Event in South Carolina, he spoke about when he became a lover of professional wrestling.
"Early on in junior high, I wanted to be in the WWE or WCW," Gable told SCNow.com. "I fell in love watching wrestlers like Macho Man and the WCW Cruiserweights like Chris Benoit and Rey Mysterio. After being involved in Olympic wrestling, I decided to ride those credentials into following my dreams and becoming a part of the WWE and sports entertainment.”
Gable also spoke about not knowing where he and Jordan were going to end up during the brand extension draft back in July. Gable said that there was a viewing party at the WWE performance center which is where the duo found out that they would be heading to SmackDown.
"It was a special way to do it and we got to find out alongside our co-workers where we would be going," he said.
Gable added that he hopes to work with the newly formed tag team of Cesaro and Sheamus, stating that he feels they could "tear the house down" if matched against them.
