Charlotte Flair Praises Rhea Ripley For Rising To The Occasion At WrestleMania 36

Charlotte Flair sees big things in the future for Rhea Ripley.

At WrestleMania 36, Charlotte Flair defeated Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women's Championship. This was Charlotte's twelfth time capturing gold in WWE. Throughout the build-up for the match, there was a heavy emphasis on the victory being more important to Charlotte because Rhea Ripley was going to have more time to build up her credibility and inevitably become the star that she has the potential to become.

Speaking with the Daily Mirror in the UK, Charlotte Flair echoed the sentiments. “The Queen” had nothing but praise for her WrestleMania opponent and proclaimed big things for the future of “The Nightmare.”

“I always thought very highly of Rhea,” Charlotte admitted. “I think that watching her perform under pressure is what I took away, because I know that I'm a 'pressure player', meaning I perform probably almost better under pressure, and that's exactly what she did.”

She continued, “Rhea rose to the occasion and that lets me know that wherever her journey goes, she is going to succeed because she showed up to the occasion and that's sometimes the hardest thing to do. You can have every tool and be extremely talented, but if you can't perform well under pressure, then that will make or break you. Rhea did that, so I have no doubt in my mind that there are bigger things ahead for her.”

Charlotte Flair’s next challenge as NXT Champion will come in the form of Io Shirai. Shirai won a Ladder Match to earn this opportunity on the April 8 episode of NXT.
