Chelsea Green Recounts Meeting With Triple H About More Serious Approach For Her Character, Losing In 30 Seconds The Next Week

There was a meeting between Chelsea Green and Triple H about Green’s on-screen character.
Fresh off of becoming the Interim WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam, Chelsea Green made the media rounds.
One of the outlets she spoke with was Complex Graps. She recounted a meeting she had with WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque. It had to do with taking Green’s on-screen character in a more serious direction.
Green said the following week she lost in 30 seconds. The match she’s referring to is when she lost to Jade Cargill on Monday Night Raw in April 2024. It was Cargill’s first singles match in WWE.
“About a year ago, I had a conversation with Hunter. We sat down, and we talked about me going in a more serious direction. Literally the next week, I was put in a comedy spot that lasted like 30 seconds and I was pinned. I’m like, ‘Welp. I fear we’re here to stay.’ Him and I never spoke about it again. It’s such a funny conversation to think about because we were like, ‘Yeah, and you know, I’ll stop doing this and I’ll stop doing that, and I’ll look more serious and I’ll be more serious and I’ll do my moves’ and then I literally believe I went, ‘Uh!!???’ And then took the Jaded. So, you know, I feel like I found my niche, I found my lane and why did I try to get out of the lane? The lane works; it’s my lane. I made the lane. I’m gonna stay in the lane…”
