Chelsea Green Was Told Her NXT Hiring Depended Upon The IIconics Being Medically Cleared

Chelsea Green was once told that her WWE hiring depended on The IIconics being healthy.

Chelsea Green, Billie Kay, and Peyton Royce were all released by WWE on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Now that they are working toward the next phase of their careers, Chelsea is reflecting on wanting to be a member of the iconic's and how she was initially told her hiring was dependent upon them.

Vanessa Borne Opens Up About Her WWE Release; Pitch To Be In RETRIBUTION, Getting COVID

Recently, in an interview with Cultaholic, Chelsea Green revealed that among her many pitches to find a secure placement on the main roster, she pitched being paired with Billie Kay and Peyton Royce and becoming a third IIconic with a fake Australian accent.

"Oh my gosh, I had so many. I had a Daisy Duke character, I had a sexy nun character for The Messiah [Seth Rollins]. Like what would be The Messiah's follower or worshipper. I pitched to be Dominik's girlfriend. I pitched so many. One of my favorites that I pitched was being a TRIIconic. So like trying to get in and be with them and do a fake Aussie accent and try and split them up, but have them realize that I'm really the crazy one," Green said.

Then, on the most recent episode of her 50 Shades of Green podcast, she revealed that WWE initially told her that they would only hire her if something went askew with either Billie Kay or Peyton Royce being hired because all three look too similar.

“These girls have been my ride-or-dies, especially throughout my time in WWE. Funny story, actually, I was told that I would only get a job at NXT if Cass and Jess, aka The IIconics, didn't pass their medicals because the three of us look so similar. Which, I actually love now. I think it's such a compliment. Jokes on them, because they still hired me, right?”

Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay are going to be joining Chelsea Green and the podcast space as they just announced that their own podcast, Off Her Chops, will be premiering soon.

Elsewhere on the podcast, Chelsea Green discussed her own experience with the now-infamous WWE garbage bag “care packages”. Learn more here.
