Chris Bey Praises Leon Slater: ‘He’s The Right Now Of The Business’
Chris Bey has nothing but praise for Leon Slater.
Chris Bey might not be able to wrestle right now, but he’s still staying updated with the wrestling scene and believes that Leon Slater is a great example of what’s current in wrestling. Slater recently captured the TNA X-Division Title from Moose at TNA Slammiversary. Now, he’s doing his best to revitalize the division and keep the original focus of “no limits” in mind.
Speaking with Fightful’s Kate Elizabeth at WrestleCon in August 2025, Chris Bey called Slater the future of the industry. He would even say that his Swanton 450 is one of the coolest moves in the industry. He would go so far as to say Slater is somebody worth building a promotion around.
“Oh, the X-Division champion, Leon Slater. He’s the right now of the business. He’s the future of the business. His Swanton 450 is to die for. It’s one of the most pretty moves and devastating moves in pro wrestling. He’s young, he’s respectful, he’s talented. He’s got all of the things you would want out of someone to put a company on your back. He’s the next Leon Slater, the first Leon Slater. That’s the guy that I’d be talking about for the rest of my days.”
