Chris Jericho: AEW Dynamite Street Fight Took Two Hours To Put Together

AEW made the best of a bad situation on the May 6 episode of AEW Dynamite when they delivered a street fight involved Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara battling Matt Hardy & Kenny Omega.

The street fight had many memorable moments including Guevara being ran over by a golf cart, Omega doing a moonsault off a scissors lift, and Hardy's costume change in an ice box.

Speaking on Barstool's My Mom's Basement, Jericho detailed the behind the scenes effort put in to making the street fight memorable.

"We did a street fight where we fought throughout the whole concourse. Why? Because it was there. I got asked, 'How long did it take you to plan it?' Two hours. We got to the building, walked around, 'Oh, there's an ice machine. Matt, can you fit in this?' There were golf carts, a scissors lift, we're just finding this stuff to use. This is the only time where we're going to be able to have this type of match. You take advantage of what's there and use it to the best of your ability."

He continued, "I had a blast putting it together and blast doing it. Little details, Matt his me with a bag of ice. We cut the bag of ice so it would explode. Money in the ATM so when Sammy threw Kenny into the ATM, we could find the money. Even the stupid witches hat, with the traffic cone, it wasn't planned."

Jericho & Guevara were victorious in the bout, which ended up setting up the Stadium Stampede match between The Elite and The Inner Circle at AEW Double or Nothing.
