Chris Jericho: AEW Is Not In Competition With WWE, We're Worried About Our Own Stuff

WWE and AEW will always be pitted against each other as they are two wrestling companies with national television deals.

Since AEW Dynamite debuted on TNT in October 2019, they have gone head-to-head with NXT, though that will change on April 13 when NXT moves to Tuesdays.

Despite fans believing the two companies are in competition with each other, Chris Jericho says that AEW is only worried about AEW.

"I didn't think there would be another national promotion again that could really...I don't want to say competition, because we're not in competition. Obviously, by proxy, we're thrown into that, but we're worried about our own stuff and doing things differently and doing things a different way to draw the fanbase to create more of the choices that we had during the Monday Night Wars. We haven't had those choices in a while and now we do and people latched on to it," said Jericho in an interview with Steve Austin on Broken Skull Sessions.

Jericho has had plenty of fun with the Wednesday Night Wars over the past 18 months, often tweeting about the ratings and calling himself the "Demo God" as AEW consistently topped NXT in the 18 to 49 demographic.

Elsewhere during the interview, Jericho discussed how long he plans to continue to wrestle. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
