Chris Jericho And Jake Hager vs. Sonny Kiss And Joey Janela, Jurassic Express, Set For 9/9 AEW Dynamite

The Inner Circle look to prove their dominance in a No Disqualification match against Bad Romance, Joey Janela and Sonny Kiss on the September 9th episode of AEW Dynamite.

Following a beat down of Joey Janela last week at the hands of Chris Jericho and Sonny Kiss’ surprise elimination of Jake Hager at AEW All Out in the Casino Battle Royale, a No DQ tag team match is now set for Dynamite.

This will be the first time that Chris Jericho and Sonny Kiss are on opposite sides of the squared circle, something that Chris Jericho says he had planned for very early on in Dynamite’s run on TNT.

"You know, it's funny. The original plan for week three for AEW Dynamite when I had the Philadelphia Street fight against Darby [Allin], we were looking for me to have a title match kind of right off the bat [who] was somebody that I could beat and kind of give a rub to. My original idea was Sonny Kiss and Tony [Khan] suggested Darby Allin and we went with that, which was sort of great," said Jericho.

Chris Jericho is coming off of a loss to Orange Cassidy in the first-ever Mimosa Mayhem Match at AEW All Out. Following the match, he revealed that he already knew what his next program in AEW will be.

“Actually, I know exactly who I'm going to be kind of feuding with next, who my next story is with because once again, it's all about the stories. So you'll find out on Wednesday. That's kind of the blow-off of Jericho and Orange for now and I'm sure we can always come back to it at some point.”

Also set for this episode is Matt Hardy, who went through a terrifying concussion scare at All Out as well as a tag team match between Lucha Bros vs. Jurassic Express.

Fightful will have live coverage of Dynamite beginning Wednesday at 8 p.m. Eastern.
