Chris Jericho Wins FTW Title At AEW Dynasty, Crowd Chants ‘Please Retire’ And ‘Go Home’

Chris Jericho is the new FTW Champion.

Chris Jericho defeated HOOK for the FTW Title in a violent match at AEW Dynasty. In true FTW fashion, HOOK remained defiant until the end, kicking out of two Judas Effect elbows, and giving Chris Jericho the double bird before getting cracked in the head with Floyd the baseball bat leading to a Jericho pinfall victory.

The entire time in the final moments of the match and in the post-match championship "celebration," Chris Jericho carried a remorseful disposition, repeatedly apologizing to both HOOK and Taz, HOOK's father and the creator of the FTW Championship, as HOOK was checked out by medical staff.

The crowd in St. Louis was not vibing with Jericho. Throughout the contest, there were chants of 'Please retire,' and 'Go home, Jericho.' Now, Chris Jericho has added another championship run to his already-stacked resume before he retires and he will go home with a new championship in tow.

Chris Jericho is the fifth person to win the FTW Title since the championship was brought into AEW in 2020. HOOK's second reign with the championship began at AEW All In when he defeated Jack Perry on the Zero Hour prior to the event.
