Chris Jericho Donates $10,000 To Damar Hamlin's Charity After NFL Star Has Cardiac Arrest On Field

Chris Jericho helped with the fundraising effort for Damar Hamlin after the NFL star had cardiac arrest on Monday night.

On January 2, the Buffalo Bills played the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football. The game abruptly stopped when Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed following a tackle on Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. An ambulance was brought to the field, and the 24-year-old received CPR, as he had cardiac arrest after the tackle. The Bills player was then brought to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and he is in critical condition.

As the scary situation unfolded on Monday night, many fans and supporters began donating to Hamlin's online charity, The Chasing M's Foundation, which he started in 2020. Among others, AEW star Chris Jericho donated to the charity, which was running a campaign to give toys to local children affected by the pandemic; in total, he paid $10,000 between two donations, and he misspelled his name with the first one.

As of Tuesday morning, this overall outpouring of support helped the charity raise over $3.3 million, which is 135,000% more than its original goal.

On behalf of Fightful, we wish Hamlin well in his recovery, and our thoughts are with his family during this time.

Jericho will compete on the January 4 episode of AEW Dynamite. Check out the card here.
