Chris Jericho Explains Why He Came Back For Greatest Royal Rumble And Not WrestleMania 34

Jericho says he will only return to wrestling for a real angle.

Over the past year, Jericho has been seen in small amounts on WWE television and in New Japan Pro Wrestling. In an interview with ESPN, he explained his status with professional wrestling by saying he has not considered himself a full-time wrestling in years.

"I'm not a full-time wrestler. I haven't been since 2010. It's all based on what Fozzy's doing and what else is going on in my career at the time. It just wasn't working out this year. I'm not the type of guy who's gonna fly in, do WrestleMania and leave. There has to be an angle. There has to be a buildup. There just wasn't. Even though everybody thought it was a big conspiracy, I actually wasn't even there. I wouldn't be a surprise guest at WrestleMania unless it was something really, really huge, and at that point in time we were touring," said Jericho.

At the Greatest Royal Rumble, Jericho has been scheduled for the 50-man Royal Rumble and he said the event was big enough to get him to return because of the magnitude and WWE being in Saudi Arabia for the first time. Fightful Wrestling had live coverage and a recapping podcast for the event.
