Chris Jericho has one particular WWE star in mind who could potentially fit well in AEW.
In an interview with Adam Wilbourn of WhatCulture, Jericho was asked about which WWE star he would like to see in AEW if the opportunity ever arises. That name ended up being Roman Reigns, the former WWE Champion. Jericho says Reigns has what it takes to be the top star in pro wrestling and is someone he would love to get his hands on.
"I'd put Roman Reigns at the top of that wishlist for anybody. Not only is he a great worker but he's such a cool guy. If they just let him be him he'd be the biggest star in the industry, for real. That'd be a guy I'd love to get my hands on for sure," Jericho said.
Sticking to AEW and his own current work there, Jericho mentioned that he knew AEW was going to take off in a big way, but never anticipated it was going to be this big already. In addition, Jericho said he loves the freedom to tell his stories in AEW.
"I anticipated it was gonna be big, I didn't anticipate it was going to be as big as it was so quickly. I just like being able to tell these stories, and we have total freedom with AEW to do what's right. Are we competition to WWE? Of course, by proxy, but we don't think about it that way. We just wanna give people an alternative and let the artists be artists," Jericho said.
Reigns hasn't been seen on WWE programming for months, but he did send a Cameo video directed at Fightful, saying he is sticking to a legit quarantine. You can check it out at this link.
