Chris Jericho Thinks Vince McMahon Regrets Losing Him, Doesn't Think WWE Will Ever Mention Him

Chris Jericho helped change the landscape when he joined AEW at the start of 2019. Jericho has said many times that he believes his presence in AEW helped get them to where they are today and, on-screen has demanded a "thank you" from AEW executives.

And now that he's in AEW and directly competing with WWE, he isn't sure he'll ever be mentioned by WWE again.

?They?ll probably never mention me again,? Jericho told the Tampa Bay Times. ?I don?t blame them. Why would they promote me in any way, shape or form, when I?m the head of this opposing army, in their opinion, that?s stealing money out of their pockets??

Jericho has always stayed ahead of the game by re-inventing his character and he's been vocal about things that he doesn't believe will work. For example, Jericho recently revealed that AEW wanted to hold Blood & Guts in Georgia to boost the market, but Jericho didn't think it was the right time for The Elite vs. The Inner Circle because they were involved in other storylines at the time.

?Am I hard to work with? Maybe to somebody who?s used to working with yes men, and people that just want to get along, yes," he says. "If you?re looking for somebody that?s going to do his utmost best to get the job done right, to put on the best possible program and best possible story line at the risk of hurting people?s feelings? Then yes, I?m hard to deal with. I earned Vince?s trust. And it takes a long time to get his real trust. Moneymaking trust. ... He?s never told me this, but indirectly, I think he regrets losing me, because I was one of his generals. I?m not always right, but f--k if I?m not close 80 percent of the time," he said.

Jericho is set to do commentary on Wednesday's AEW Dynamite alongside Tony Schiavone.

Fightful will have live coverage of AEW beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
