Ricky Starks and Chris Jericho will kick off the new year by facing each other on AEW Dynamite.
After engaging in a war of words on the December 21 edition of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho and Ricky Starks are set to meet in singles action on the first Dynamite of 2023. Jericho offered Starks the chance to join the Jericho Appreciation Society. When Starks firmly turned him down and insulted him, the JAS beat him up until Action Andretti made the save.
Although Starks originally challenged Jericho to match in the promo segment on Dynamite, the match wasn't confirmed until AEW posted about it on social media on December 27.

This will be the first time that Jericho and Starks have shared a ring in AEW. Back in October 2021, Starks and his former teammate Powerhouse Hobbs faced Jericho and Orange Cassidy in a tag match on Jericho's Triple Whammy cruise.
