Chris Sabin reflects on The Motor City Machine Guns playing a large part in TNA signing The Young Bucks as Generation Me.
The Guns and The Bucks have a long history in their rivalry in tag team wrestling, sharing the ring on several occasions in TNA as The Young Bucks would wrestle under the Generation Me tag team name. Now, the two teams share a roster once again in All Elite Wrestling.
While speaking to MuscleManMalcolm in a new interview, Chris Sabin spoke about how the Machine Guns played a part in The Young Bucks being signed to TNA.
“Yeah, so we first met the Young Bucks at PWG. Actually, we had a match booked against them, and as we wrestled them, and the following week, because we were still with Contractor TNA at the time, following week, we went right up to Terry Taylor, who was running Talent Relations at the time. We’re like, ‘you got to see these guys. You have to hire these guys.’ So eventually, they took our word, brought them in for a tryout. They saw them. They hired them. We wrestled them over and over and over and over again, and it was awesome. We just had the best chemistry, and we just want to reignite that feud again. We want to make sure we still have that chemistry. We think we will, and that’s who we want to wrestle the most in the AEWs, The Young Bucks.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Sabin spoke about the accomplishment of the Machine Guns potentially holding the NJPW, TNA, WWE, and finally AEW Tag Titles. You can read more about that here.
