Over two weeks since their heavily publicized rally, AEW still has the wrestling world buzzing. Many have given their thoughts on the promotion with most excited to see what Tony Khan and company bring to the business.

Six-Man Tag, Mixed Tag, X-Division Title Bout, More Announced For TNA Under Siege

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, former WWE Champion Christian offered up his opinion on AEW.

“I don’t know if it’s going to be direct competition with WWE, but it’s never a bad thing to have competition,” said Christian. “It’s obviously really ambitious, but when you see the success that Cody and the Young Bucks had with ‘All In,’ and with the financial backing they have from the Khan family, it’s a wait-and-see. Will they get a TV deal? You can’t get too far ahead of yourself, but I wish them the best. It’s never a bad thing for performers to have another place to go and ply their trade.”

No television deal for AEW has been announced, but the company reportedly has multiple offers on the table. Chris Jericho stated that he would not have signed with the promotion if a strong TV deal was not in the works.

Christian is currently the host of Knight Fight on the History Channel.
