Christian Talks About A Potential Return To Wrestling In Light Of Daniel Bryan's Return

Daniel Bryan's medical clearance by WWE to return to in-ring action has fans wondering if the same could be said for other wrestlers and Edge and Christian addressed a potential comeback to wrestling.

On a recent episode on E&C's Pod of Awesomeness, Edge and Christian talk about Bryan's return to the ring and if it's possible for the two former world champions to return to the ring as well. Edge strongly rejected the possibility of WWE ever clearing him and Christian has a slightly different take on his return. Christian also said he has not been cleared by WWE, but he wouldn't want to wrestle and overstay his welcome despite his confidence in himself being able to still compete at an elite WWE level.

"I got the same thing. [Fans] ask me, 'You got anything to want to tell us,' and I'm like, 'No, not really.' I haven't been cleared and I don't know if I ever would be and to be honest with you, I'm 44 years old and I never want to be a guy that hung on for too long. Do I think I can go back at a high level? Yeah, i'm confident in myself that I could. The thing is, could I and do I want to are two completely different things," Christian said.

Now if Christian was a few years younger, then he might consider a return to the ring, but at the moment, Christian does not believe he would ever return to WWE.

"If I was 30 years old and not 40 years old, I would feel differently about it, but I'm not," Christian said.

Christian last wrestled in WWE in 2014 in a No. 1 contenders match for the Intercontinental Championship. Christian won that match but also suffered a concussion and has never wrestled since then, quietly retiring as an in-ring competitor.
