Christian is owed an Intercontinental Title match. It's a fact. He's aware of it.
As highlighted in the past week or so here on Fightful, Christian left WWE with an IC Title match against Big E that was never delivered. Now that he's made his big in-ring return at the 2021 WWE Royal Rumble, the possibility of a Big E vs. Christian is back on the table.
When appearing on WWE's The Bump, Christian joked about possibly facing Big E, but wouldn't reveal his plans too much.
"Looking how big Big E is, maybe I won't go after the Intercontinental Title if I come back," Christian laughed. "I love Big E. He's one of my favorite people in the entire world. So are Xavier Woods and (Kofi Kingston). I love all those guys, I'm so proud of what they've accomplished. You talk about a tag team match and the backstage segments we could do with New Day would be super entertaining as well. I can't tip my hand on anything. I'm renting space in his head already, I need all the advantage I can if that's the case. I love Big E, he's doing great things and I look forward to him having a long Intercontinental Championship reign."
Big E was unimpressed by this, and continued to fuel the flames on social media after the clip was posted.
