Christopher Daniels Is Excited To Challenge Himself Against Stephen Amell At All In

Christopher Daniels is looking forward to a challenge at All In.

The 47-year-old former ROH World champion takes on Arrow star Stephen Amell at the Biggest Independent Show in History. Daniels has wrestled a who's who list of professionals during his nearly three decades in the business. But Amell presents a different kind of opponent.

“It is a different style match for me. It’s a challenge,” Daniels told TV Insider. “I feel like I’ve prided myself on being able to adapt to the strengths and weaknesses of any opponent I’ve been able to face. Stephen in terms of wrestling specifically, he is very untrained. But he is an accomplished athlete and a fan growing up."

All In won't be Amell's first foray into the professional wrestling ring. He competed at WWE SummerSlam 2015, teaming with Neville to battle Stardust (Cody Rhodes) and Wade Barrett. He's also no stranger to working with Daniels. At ROH Survival of the Fittest 2017, Amell teamed with The Bullet Club (Cody, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks) to take on The Addiction (Daniels & Kazarian), Flip Gordon and Scorpio Sky.

Daniels believes Amell's previous experience, and his athletic background, will help the match quality.

“That basically lends itself to an easier time for me than when WCW did it with Dennis Rodman and Karl Malone or Jay Leno. Stephen Amell is probably the best pure athlete and wrestling fan that has ever dabbled in professional wrestling. I challenge anyone to find someone better suited for it than him. I’m going into this with a lot of expectations. I think it’s going to surprise people how well it’s going to go.

“To put that challenge out there and express that desire to work with me, I take that very seriously. I’m going to do everything on my end to make this match stand out. On a card that already has a lot of great matches announced and great talent, I’m going to do my best to make my match stand out among them. It’s a high bar to meet. I’m sure Stephen and I are going to do it.”

Daniels and Amell have already traded verbal shots on Twitter leading up to the event. The Fallen Angel said you can expect more as the event draws closer.

Amell against Daniels goes down Saturday, Sept. 1 at All In. Fightful will provide full coverage of the event.
