CJ Perry (Lana) Defends John Cena Tapping Out In His Final Match, ‘Life Doesn’t Always Go How We Planned’

CJ Perry weighs in on John Cena’s last match.
Controversy ensued following the conclusion of Cena’s final bout, which saw the ‘Last Real Champion’ tap out to Gunther’s signature and vicious sleeper hold.
Speaking with TMZ, CJ Perry (Lana) defended the finish with strong kayfabe reasoning.
“He’s 48 years old, you know? A man that is stronger than him, taller than him, ten years younger than him is choking him out.”
Perry continued on and said that the submission finish showed that Cena is indeed human.
“Life doesn’t always go how we planned. I feel like if anything, John has become more of my hero because now I see that he’s human. He’s a superhero that is human.”
Perry finished out the topic by praising Cena’s way of bowing out of the business.
“I’ve watched a lot of his interviews, he’s like, everything has to come to an end. This is why I think he’s such a hero and he’s so inspirational, we all have to know when to bow out. He did it in the best way. He was just saying, we don’t all live forever, you know? It’s a hard pill to swallow at times but at the same time, it’s like, if you’re going to go out, do it this way.”
