CM Punk Added To Starrcast III During AEW All Out Weekend, Will Have "A Live Mic"

CM Punk is making a wrestling related appearance during All Elite Wrestling's All Out Weekend.

Starrcast announced Thursday that the former WWE Champion CM Punk would be appearing at Starrcast III. You can get more information by going to their official website at this link. Punk's pro wrestling appearances are rare, having not competed since leaving WWE in January 2014, and only making very anonymous appearances at indie events while under a mask otherwise.

When we reached out to Conrad Thompson, who runs Starrcast, he simply sent a .gif image of CM Punk blowing a kiss at Vince McMahon from the 2011 WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view. However, he and Punk both spoke to SI.

“A highlight is easily anytime anyone has a story,” said Punk. “I do about one signing a year and the best part is always finding out how you’ve touched people’s lives in a meaningful way. A lot of it can be heavy; helped someone get clean, helped somehow with the loss of a loved one. I am always touched to know the private intimate stories people have. Knowing the weekend will be attracting fans from all over the world for AEW, and since I normally only do one signing a year, it’s a great way to maybe meet people that normally I wouldn’t get the chance to otherwise. Looking forward to meeting everyone there," said Punk.

To expand on that, Thompson revealed that Punk would have a live mic at the event.

“Fans are going to get what they’ve wanted for a long time, and that is CM Punk with a live mic. It’s going to happen at Starrcast," said Thompson

Punk did a signing in Chicago ahead of last year's All In pay-per-view, and has been courted by the Young Bucks to join AEW. However, they stated recently that it isn't happening yet.

Nick Jackson: We'll be honest. Of course, we would love him to come to our company. At this time, I just don't think he wants to.

Matt Jackson: When he wants to come back to wrestling, it'll be his decision. (I don't think it's a when) It's an "if."

Nick: Matt talks to him all the time about it but the timing is not right, I guess.

Matt: Professional wrestling is the most demanding thing in the world. You can't just find yourself back in it one day and be like 'okay, I guess I'm doing this again.' You really have to want to do it and that's up to him.

Fightful will be on the scene of both Starrcast III, as well as All Elite Wrestling's All Out pay-per-view, which take place Labor Day Weekend in Schaumberg near Chicago, Illinois.
