CM Punk Doesn’t Know If AJ Styles Is Retired, ‘I Know What He Told Me Behind The Scenes, Which Is Nobody Else’s Business’
CM Punk doesn’t know if AJ Styles is retired.
Styles put his career on the line against Gunther at the WWE Royal Rumble premium live event. Despite the best efforts of Styles, Gunther came out as the winner, ending the career of ‘The Phenomenal One’.
There is some speculation that Styles will have a handful of matches outside of WWE before officially putting a bow on his illustrious career. This speculation was only fueled after Styles didn’t take his gloves or boots off after his loss to Gunther.
On the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Punk said that he doesn’t know if Styles is retired before revealing that Styles told him something behind the scenes.
“Who knows? I don’t know. I know what he told me behind the scenes, which is nobody else’s business.”
Punk went on to joke that Styles could return for a grizzly street fight at a future WrestleMania.
“Listen, listen. If we ever do a WrestleMania in the future in Atlanta and we need gnarly Allen Jones to come back and do a street fight, like Bruno Sammartino against Macho Man Randy Savage circa late 80s. Yeah, bring it on.”
