CM Punk Asks 'What Would Patrick Roy Do?'

CM Punk might be a Chicago Blackhawks fan, but he's asking about a Colorado Avalanche legend.

On his Instagram stories, Punk has kept fans update on the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, posting photos and captions throughout playoff games.

On Friday, Punk was working out while wearing a Patrick Roy shirt featuring a photo of Roy from his infamous brawl with Detroit Red Wings goalie Mike Vernon. Punk zoomed in on the shirt and asked, "What Would Patrick Roy Do?"

Roy was notorious for his competitive fire, which drove him to four Stanley Cup titles in his career. He is a three-time Conn Smythe (Playoff MVP) winner and has the most wins in the playoffs for a goalie. He is second all-time in regular season wins. He wasn't afraid to stand up for his teammates and fight opposing goaltenders if the situation called for it.

Roy was infamously traded by the Montreal Canadiens due to his relationship with the new head coach and feeling that the coach was trying to humiliate him in a game where he was shelled for nine goals before being pulled.

Roy, as the head coach, also left Colorado Avalanche under bitter circumstances, resigning a month before training camp due to a feeling that he didn't have enough say in roster decisions.

Patrick Roy is unlikely to appear in AEW. It is unknown when CM Punk will officially return to the company. He hasn't been seen since AEW All Out due to a backstage altercation with The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt & Nick Jackson).

Tony Khan has given no comment on recent reports that Punk would be returning as AEW Collision debuts.
