CM Punk: Daniel Bryan Is The One Guy I Want A Match With, He Would Be A Huge Acquisition

CM Punk is excited to see what Daniel Bryan does next.

Seven years after leaving WWE, CM Punk returned to wrestling at AEW Rampage: The First Dance. The Best In The World is scheduled to face Darby Allin at All Out on Sunday, September 5. Another big-name free agent currently on the market is Daniel Bryan. The former WWE Champion last competed against Roman Reigns on April 30, losing a Universal Championship match that saw him banished from SmackDown.

On July 21, Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reports Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) is "locked-in" and "100% signed a contract with AEW." Speaking with WFAN, Punk commented on the possibility of Bryan joining AEW and how he would be a huge acquisition for the company. Here are his full remarks:

"The seven years I was gone, if you told me, 'Who is the one guy that can get you back to wrestling? You can just have one match with them,' it would be him. That guy was in the WrestleMania main event six months ago. It would be a huge acquisition. He could, just like me, do everything he wants to do. For a guy like me and him, pro wrestling is art. This is our art. Other people paint with brushes, this is our art. We're very much in the footsteps of Bret Hart. If he does show up, I'm excited to see what he does. If he doesn't, I'm excited to see what he does elsewhere."

Bryan and Punk faced off previously in WWE and Ring of Honor. Whether their paths cross again remains to be seen.
