CM Punk Discusses ‘Night Patrol’, Says Horror Movies Have Always Been The Voice Of Cinema

CM Punk comments on his new film.

Punk stars in the upcoming film ‘Night Patrol’, which will hit theaters on Friday, January 16. The horror/thriller film, which centers on an LA cop, also stars Justin Long, Dermot Mulroney, YG, Freddie Gibbs, and Jermaine Fowler.

Speaking with Fox 5 New York for a new interview, Punk promoted the movie and talked about his love of the horror genre.

“It’s like a throwback, like grindhouse exploitation. Cops, bloods, crips, LA underbelly, vampires and it’s a horror movie. That to me is like my bread and butter. I think horror movies can best talk about culture and what’s going on. I don’t know, horror movies to me have always been the voice of cinema. We look to all of these big movies, they tell stories but they don’t really get into real life stuff. There’s a lot of real life issues that are going on in this movie that are going on in a fantastical way with crazy characters and real life situations.”
