CM Punk talks about dealing with ‘anticipatory anxiety’.

On the WWE RAW debut on Netflix on January 6th earlier this year, CM Punk and Seth Rollins would meet in the main event of the program in singles action. In the lead up to the bout, Punk has now shared his feelings of anticipatory anxiety.

While speaking on the first episode of WWE Unreal, Punk spoke about being gripped by what he calls ‘anticipatory anxiety’.

“I’m looking at that RAW debut like, ‘holy shit’. I constantly have what I call anticipatory anxiety now. Like, right now, I’m just riddled with it. In a way, I’m almost waiting for it to all to be over and the only time I’m not gonna feel that way is when the red light’s on and the bell rings. I have no boss. I’m 100% in control. I can do whatever the fuck I want.”

Punk would end up defeating Rollins in the bout to close the show, and WWE Unreal would detail how the backstage producers were trying to get the match finished on schedule, despite fans belief that due to being on Netflix, they could go for as long as they wanted.

Elsewhere on WWE Unreal, Triple H and CM Punk spoke about their dynamic prior to Punk’s WWE exit in 2014. You can read more about that here.
