CM Punk Joins Cast Of Netflix Rom-Com Based On Novel ‘The Bodyguard’

CM Punk has joined the cast of a Netflix rom-com based on the Katherine Center novel “The Bodyguard.”

Deadline first reported the news. Leighton Meester and Jared Padalecki have already signed on to the project.

Andie MacDowell, Walker Hayes, Noah LaLonde, and Toby Sandeman are also part of the cast.

Punk will play the role of Doghouse. The character is described as a ”physically intimidating member of the security detail, who is known for his loyalty and humor.”

In the novel, a no-nonsense bodyguard is assigned to protect a charming action star over the holidays, leading sparks to fly and secrets to unravel, with Christmas getting a whole lot more complicated.

Deadline reports Elizabeth Allen Rosenbau will direct based off the script from Erin Cardillo & Richard Keith. Gina Matthews and Grant Scharbo are producing for Little Engine Productions. Jared and Genevieve Padalecki for Living in the Asterisk are also listed as producers.

Punk currently stars in “Zootopia 2” as one of the Zebros. The other Zebros is voiced by Roman Reigns.

CM Punk is the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He is set to defend the title against Bron Breakker on the January 5th episode of WWE Raw.
