CM Punk Says He Wore Two Shirts At WWE House Show Just To Pop Bronson Reed: “Doesn’t Go Any Deeper Than That”

Punk said it’s not anything deeper other than him trying to make Bronson Reed laugh.
During WWE’s holiday house show tour to close out 2025, CM Punk defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Bronson Reed.
One of the clips from their match circulated on social media, and it featured Punk removing his t-shirt just for him to be wearing another t-shirt underneath it. This came after WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash critiqued Punk for his performance on the 12/22 Monday Night Raw and made a remark about Punk wrestling in a t-shirt as the World Heavyweight Champion of WWE.
Punk spoke about the house show moment while he was on Notsam Wrestling Live!. He said it was nothing deeper than him just wanting to make Bronson Reed laugh.
“Yeah, and it’s not that deep. That was to pop the guy I was wrestling. Doesn’t go any deeper than that but, you know, somebody’s always gotta throw their two cents in and, ‘No, no, no, what he was doing was –’ no, no, no. I made dude laugh, and that’s what house shows are for. I’m like king of ribs on house shows. Last year at The Garden, I’m running out in a towel, soaking wet with a shower cap on. Come on… I’m trying to (have fun). Some people really wanna be miserable though. I’m trying not to be,” Punk laughed. “I’m really, really trying.”
Punk’s latest title defense was on the first episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix in 2026. He successfully put the title on the line against Bron Breakker.
