CM Punk On Slow Build In AEW: I'm An Artist Painting My Picture, Let Me Paint

CM Punk is easing back into things after seven years away from the business.

Punk made his in-ring return at AEW All Out, picking up a victory over Darby Allin. He's followed that up with victories over Powerhouse Hobbs and Daniel Garcia.

While fans are wondering why Punk, one of the top stars in wrestling, hasn't jumped right into the title picture, he wants everyone to "let it play out."

“I’m an artist painting my picture. Let me paint my picture,” Punk told Tony Maglio of The Wrap. “What I’m doing is very calculated, it’s very thought out. I’m here to stay. Trust me, in 10 years, people will be talking about what we have with AEW. It’s such a just hang out, wait and see, and have fun and enjoy the ride kind of thing. Everything is fluid: dates, contracts — literally everything. This has been the best working experience I’ve ever had in the wrestling business, and if there is an issue on either end, everybody just talks. There’s no drama, it’s fantastic.”

Punk is undefeated in AEW and is coming off a victory over Daniel Garcia on Friday's AEW Rampage.
