CM Punk: The Elimination Chamber Structure Is Unforgiving. It’s Possibly The Stupidest Match We Do

CM Punk explains why he is not a fan of the Elimination Chamber.

The Elimination Chamber structure debuted in 2002 at Survivor Series as an on-screen creation by Eric Bischoff. The match gained such notoriety that it became it’s own Premium Live Event that has helped shape the road to WrestleMania.

CM Punk is not a fan.

“You can’t prepare for an Elimination Chamber match. It’s possibly the stupidest match we do here. The structure is unforgiving, not in a PR way, in a, ‘it hurts like hell and it doesn’t move and it doesn’t make any noise.’ It’s your worst enemy. Whoever designed this really doesn’t like human beings, or at least us,” Punk said on WWE Unreal.

Punk has competed in five Elimination Chamber matches in his career, including 2025.

All five episodes of WWE Unreal are now streaming on Netflix. Fans can find more coverage of the show here.
