CM Punk On Whether He Prefers To Be A Babyface Or A Heel
CM Punk prefers being a heel.
Throughout his 20+ year career, Punk has had multiple stints as a babyface and a heel. Many fans will argue that Punk is fantastic in both roles, but when it comes to the ‘Best In The World’ himself, a heel character is just so much easier.
“Fascinating question that I would have a wildly different answer for at different stages of my career. I think the default, I would always say heel. I’m one of those guys that people point to and say, ‘That is a born villain.’ It’s much easier I feel to get a large group of people to hate you or dislike you than to truly love you. There’s a lot that goes into that. It’s consistency, it’s longevity, it’s your look, it’s your attitude. It’s easier to come out and just be like [thumbs down] your sports team stinks and they instantly know that we’re booing this person.” Punk told WWE On Netflix’s YouTube channel when asked if he prefers to be a heel or face.
Punk has largely been a babyface since returning to the world of wrestling in 2021.
