CM Punk: WWE Needs To Hire People Who Actually Understand What Representation Means

CM Punk won't be on WWE Backstage until Jan. 21, but that didn't stop him from giving his thoughts on Monday's WWE Raw. The closing segment of Raw saw Liv Morgan return, revealing herself to be Lana's lover. The big reveal resulted in a scrap between Liv and Lana, as Lana claimed that Liv had ruined her wedding with Bobby Lashley.

The segment has led to varying opinions with some finding the whole thing so absurd that it became funny and others chastising WWE for their portrayal of Liv and Lana as gay lovers. Sonya Deville, an openly gay woman who pitched WWE on an LGBTQ storyline with Mandy Rose, said her mind was blown after seeing the segment.

Punk's complaint about having people with similar life experiences to the characters and audience they are writing for is not unheard of. New Day spoke about the same issue on their New Day: Feel The Power podcast.
