Last night, during the first hour of Raw, a backstage segment aired in which Bayley gave Goldust a belated Christmas present of a teddy bear wearing a black and yellow polka-dotted singlet, in the model of Goldust's late father Dusty Rhodes. Bayley said that without his guidance at the performance center in NXT, she wouldn't be where she is today--#1 contender for the Women's Championship. She said that she loved Dusty very much, Goldust said that Dusty loved her too, and Bayley left to go prepare for her match later.
Enter Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Anderson proceeded to take the bear from Goldust and rip its head off, leading to a match between Anderson & Gallows and Goldust & R-Truth.

Apparently, Dusty's other son, former WWE superstar Cody Rhodes, wasn't too happy with the segment.
Cody's sister Teil Margaret also chimed in with her feelings on Twitter.
While many fans agreed with the younger Rhodes children, others believed that Goldust's involvement in the segment was reason enough to see it as simply a technique, however tawdry, to build sympathy for the babyfaces and hatred for the heels.
