"When it comes to the athleticism and product we want to present, I tend to skew towards the sporting aspect of the industry. I love traditional wrestling," stated Cody. "There's magic in there with keeping suspension of disbelief alive. There's so much you can learn from old wrestling. On that side with me if Tony Khan. He comes from the world of sports. He wants to put on a sports broadcast. Pro wrestling is entertaining enough. I don't think that the soap opera element has to be turned up to 11. I enjoy the analytics world and I love hearing about the idea of wins, loses and time limits. On the flip side of that, Matt and Nick Jackson bring non-traditional wrestling to the table. It's the buffet. And that's what I want to create."

AEW will hold their first event, Double or Nothing, on May 25.

The company is set to hold their ticket announcement party tonight in Las Vegas. They have promised more announcements including a special surprise guest. Fightful will have live coverage of the party along with all the fallout beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
