Cody Rhodes Gifted Watch His Dad Pawned Years Ago By Nick Khan, Triple H, And Bruce Prichard

Cody Rhodes was gifted a very sentimental item after capturing the WWE Championship from Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania XL.

Cody Rhodes revealed during the post-show press conference that following his emotional victory at WrestleMania XL where he finally captured the WWE Championship, becoming the first in his family to do so, he was gifted a very special watch by Nick Khan, Triple H, and Bruce Prichard. The significance of the watch is that it is the same kind of watch that Dusty Rhodes, Cody's dad, pawned in order to send Cody to acting school.

"I came to the back and Bruce Prichard, Triple H, and Nick Khan handed me this [shows watch]. It’s the same watch my dad had that he pawned so he could go to acting school. The level of investment and responsibility the company just put in my hands, I hope I can pay it back, pay it forward, 100 times over," Cody revealed while talking to the media at the post-WrestleMania press conference.

Triple H later gave more details on the watch, noting that it was Nick Khan's idea and Bruce Prichard was responsible for tracking the watch down to create an even more special night for Cody.

"We wanted to do something special for him. Bruce was very close with Dusty. I was very close with Dusty. It was Nick’s idea. He had this amazing idea. I was just along for the ride. It was Nick’s idea, I thought it was great. Bruce went and super sleuthed down this watch, which was the exact same watch that Dusty had to present to Cody. We just wanted to give him something that commemorated his dad being here when this happened because he was," said Triple H.

Cody Rhodes also spoke about what he would tell Dusty Rhodes if he was here today following his monumental victory. Read his comments here.
