Cody Rhodes wanted to set the Internet on fire with his idea.
Cody is already the most decorated AEW TNT Champion in history, holding the belt three times during his run with AEW. He most recently lost the title to Sammy Guevara in a ladder match at AEW Dynamite Beach Break.
However, Cody had a master plan to get the belt back and hold it for nearly two decades.
"Here was my idea for the TBS Championship. I thought I could make Libby [Cody's daughter Liberty] the champ, but because she's not of age, I would hold the belt for 18 years. That was the idea and I thought it would really set the internet on fire. That idea didn't go far," he said, possibly joking, on AEW Unrestricted.
As it turns out, Cody's loss to Guevara will be Cody's last match in AEW for the time being as it was announced on Tuesday that he and Brandi Rhodes would be departing the company.
