Cody Rhodes: I Didn’t Envision Pat McAfee On The Billboard, But I’m The One To Handle It

Plans have changed for Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania over the years, whether it was the finish to WrestleMania 39, The Rock entering as The Final Boss at WrestleMania 40 and 41, and now Pat McAfee joining the picture for WrestleMania 42.

Despite plans changing, Cody believes he’s the guy to deal with it.

“The thing that I’m most proud of, and maybe my dad would look at it and go, ‘He really did get the spot,’ was WrestleMania, I’m supposed to straight up wrestle against Roman Reigns. That happens, and magic comes out of it. We got The Final Boss. Magic. WrestleMania 41, Cena goes rogue, Travis Scott, Final Boss there again. A lot of unique elements, ancillary, outside, huge elements. Travis Scott is one of the greatest artists in the world and was a fan of the business. WrestleMania 42, walking in Allegiant Stadium as the champion, I’m looking at the billboard and Pat McAfee is on it next to Randy. That is not what I envisioned, but I definitely think I’m meant to be the one to handle it,” Cody told Jimmy Traina on the SI Media podcast.

McAfee was revealed as the mystery caller on the phone with Orton, and will be in Orton’s corner at WrestleMania 42.
