Cody Rhodes: NJPW Is A Great Place To Wrestle, I Was Very Thankful

Cody Rhodes has praise for NJPW.
The cast of ‘Street Fighter’ features three wrestlers — Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and NJPW’s Hirooki Goto.
On the latest episode of the Flagrant podcast, Andrew Schulz asked Rhodes about Goto.
“Goto wrestles for New Japan Pro Wrestling. Goto’s been one of their top stars for quite some time.”
Rhodes was then asked if Goto is New Japan’s version of a big name like The Undertaker or John Cena
“No. I feel like hardcore fans will probably not like my [response] — I actually never wrestled directly one-on-one with Goto. I would’ve liked to wrestle him and another guy named [Tomohiro] Ishii.”
Rounding out the topic, ‘The American Nightmare’ praised the company and said that he was thankful to wrestle there.
“Japan wrestling is treated very sport heavy. Sport first. They definitely have sports entertainment and they’d understand that, but it’s very sport first. It’s a great place to wrestle, I was very thankful.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Cody Rhodes talked about the current state of promos in wrestling. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
